This is a one year vocational course in which students learn and develop a range of research, creative and production skills across a range of different digital media.
This qualification shows that students can apply concepts and interpret practical situations. Those who wish to progress and who have achieved a Merit, will have a strong grounding for further study at Coulsdon Sixth Form College in BTEC Level 3 Certificate/Subsidiary Diploma, Diploma or at AS/A Level.
During the course, students will have the opportunity to cover the following areas of media:
- Digital Media Sectors and Audiences
- Planning and Pitching a Digital Media Product
- Digital Publishing Production
- Digital Audio Production
- Digital Games Production
Course Specific Trips, Visits & Experiences
The College runs a number of educational experiences each year to enable students to contextualise their learning. These experiences include trips to a tv studio, visiting speakers, residentials and work experience.
This course is assessed through 75% internal assessment of coursework and 25% external exam.
2 D and 3 E Grades at GCSE including English and Maths minimum Grade 2 or equivalent qualifications (a Pass or higher at BTEC Level 2 is accepted as part of the 2 D and 3 Grade E GCSEs).
