Applied Science – Level 3 BTEC Certificate
You will study a range of units covering all of the core sciences and specialising in the medical application of each discipline. Throughout the course, you will have the opportunity to complete practical investigations and experiments, as well as develop your research and independent study skills. Units studied include Principles and Applications of Science and Practical Scientific procedures and Techniques.

Four GCSEs grade 9-4 and a satisfactory school reference. Including English Language at grade 4, Science at grade 5
and maths at grade 4 as a minimum.
The College runs a number of educational experiences each year to enable students to contextualise their learning. These experiences include trips and presentations by visiting speakers.
This qualification offers students the opportunity to specialize in Medical Science, with a focus on key areas such as Human Physiology and advanced medical techniques across various fields. It also provides a strong foundation for progression into medically related degree programs, including Biomedical Sciences, Genetics, and Radiography, or for pursuing careers in laboratory-based industries.
The course is assessed via exam (50%) and coursework (50%).
