BTEC Extended Diploma in IT L3
The BTEC Level 3 Diploma in IT is a highly respected qualification for students interested in careers in information technology, digital media, software development and related industries. The course develops the technical knowledge, problem-solving skills and professional abilities needed for progression to higher education, apprenticeships and employment.
The two-year course also provides opportunities to develop practical experience, teamwork and industry-relevant skills, helping students build confidence and prepare for the demands of university and the workplace.

Four GCSEs grade 9-4 and a satisfactory school reference. Including English Language at grade 4 and maths at grade 4
as a minimum.
This qualification aims to inspire and enthuse learners to consider a career in the Information and Creative Technology sector. Industry visits and educational trips to technology companies and IT related organisitaions.
Students develop practical and theoretical skills through a combination of coursework, projects and assessments. Key areas include programming, computer systems, networking, cybersecurity, website development and IT project management, providing a strong foundation for further study and careers in the digital sector.
This course provides thorough preparation for the next stage of your career to enable you to progress with confidence to either further study or employment with training.
There is the opportunity to advance to Higher Education to study courses such as cybersecurity, data science, web development and computer software engineering.
This course is assessed through 75% internal assessment of coursework and 25% external exam. The exam board for this course is Edexcel.
