Business – Level 3 BTEC Certificate/Diploma/Extended Diploma

Example units include Unit 3: Personal and Business Finance, Unit 4: Managing an Event, and Unit 6: Principles of Management, enabling you to develop valuable skills in financial decision-making, event planning and leadership.

Four GCSEs grade 9-4 and a satisfactory school reference. Including English Language at grade 4 and maths at grade 4 as a minimum.
The course is enhanced by external visits, which provide students with the context for their work. The course aims to provide students with the independent working and communication skills necessary for both employment and further education.
The BTEC Level 3 Business Extended Diploma is a course that meets entry requirements for students who want to progress to higher education courses in business areas before entering employment. It can also support students who want to progress directly to employment in job roles in business or business management and Higher Apprenticeships in the business sector.
Business students who complete the course can pursue higher education in fields such as Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Business Management or Human Resources. Many learners also choose to go directly into industry after completing this course applying their new-found business knowledge and acumen in ethics, entrepreneurship and finance.
This course is assessed through coursework, which includes presentations, role play and other practical elements, as well as traditional business formats, including an exam.
