Health & Social Care – Level 3 BTEC Certificate/Diploma/Extended Diploma

The BTEC Level 3 in Health and Social Care is a highly respected qualification, for students interested in careers within the health, social care and early years sectors. The course develops the knowledge, understanding and professional skills needed for progression to higher education, apprenticeships and employment.
Students are assessed through a combination of external examinations, controlled assessment and coursework assignments, providing a varied learning experience that develops both academic and vocational skills. Key units include Human Lifespan Development (Unit 1), Working in Health and Social Care (Unit 2), Anatomy and Physiology for Health and Social Care (Unit 3) and Enquiries into Current Research in Health and Social Care (Unit 4). Together, these units provide a strong foundation in human development, professional practice, biological systems and the role of research in improving outcomes for individuals.

There will be 100 hours of compulsory work experience which will be incorporated into the 2yr course. This gives students valuable first-hand experience of the sector, enabling them to apply their learning in real-world environments, build confidence and develop the practical skills sought by universities and employers.
