Dear Students and Parents,

Industrial action on Wednesday 12 February 2020

The National Education Union (NEU) has balloted their members in sixth form colleges across the country as they have a national dispute with the Secretary of State for Education (not with Coulsdon Sixth Form College itself) in relation to pay, working conditions and security of employment and are seeking a substantial increase in funding given to sixth form colleges.

A significant proportion of our teachers and support staff are in the NEU and therefore it could be that a large number of staff will be on strike.

All students have work to complete and will have access to resources via Moodle and are expected to continue working on some or all the following:

  • assignments
  • coursework
  • homework
  • personal development modules on Moodle home page student zone: employability skills in the lead up to work experience placements as well as revision skills particularly for those preparing for A Level exams and BTEC external assessments

The College will be open for final year students ie Level 3 Upper Sixth students

The College will not be open Level 2 Intermediate and Lower Sixth students
