Meet our Principal
Coulsdon Sixth Form College recently bid a fond farewell to Principal Richard Beales as he retired and welcomed new Principal Odette Carew.
Odette has spent her career in education and was previously Director of Curriculum at Newham College, joining Coulsdon because it has “great potential” and “can go further”.
Commenting on her new role at Coulsdon College, Odette said, “I am so proud and excited to be joining Coulsdon Sixth Form College as the new principal. I look forward to working alongside all of my new colleagues and students, as hand in hand we move the College to even greater achievements through our students’ successes. It has always been my mission to work and give back to the community by helping and supporting young people particularly in the London area because of the needs. I want to make Coulsdon College a first-choice institution for young people. Their time here is valuable, both in terms of achievement at the highest level and we will support them in that, and also in terms of holistic development and as people who make a contribution to a society. Enrichment is important.”
Caireen Mitchell, Principal and CEO, Croydon College said: “Odette brings to the role extensive experience of leadership, management and quality improvement; a relentless focus on students; a clear passion for education; and insightful and inspiring vision for working with the College community to move Coulsdon Sixth Form College from good to great. I believe we have made an excellent appointment, and really look forward to seeing the many future achievements of Coulsdon Sixth Form College with Odette as Principal.”
