Coulsdon College students from the Creative and Cultural pathway marked February’s #LGBTQ+ History Month with class debates, research projects and a lunchtime concert. Media students researched and debated LGBTQ+ issues to inform posters they created advocating for equal rights. #English students studying ‘A Picture of Dorian Gray’ by Oscar Wilde also held discussions on the LGBTQ+ subtexts of the novel. Music students presented a lunchtime concert in the college atrium, performing in front of the Learning Resource Centre’s display of notable writers, artists, and scientists from the LGBTQ+ community. Songs performed included ‘This is Me’ from The Greatest Showman and original songs with an LGBTQ+ message.

These events demonstrated how Coulsdon College students are proud to recognise our community’s diversity and support all backgrounds.
