Performing Arts and Music

This course is for students who perform as musicians, and are looking to further their musical studies and experiences in a variety of ways. It offers students the opportunity to gain a wide range of musical skills including: Performance,
Music Theory, Song Writing Techniques, Music Production (Recording and Sequencing), Music Business and Events Management.
You will have the opportunity to develop general skills, as well as sharing their musical interests with other specialist musicians.

If you have an interest in how music is produced, this course is for you. You will have a keen interest in music, either as a performer or consumer and it is not necessary to play an instrument. Experience of music software sequencing or recording is desirable but not essential.
You will develop your knowledge of music sequencing software and the transferable skills that facilitate the realisation of musical ideas in both acoustic and electronic environments. You will also record, produce and master a complete audio recording.

This course is suitable for those wanting to work in television, film or the theatre, either in performance or technical support. Units will include Individual Showcase, Preparation, Performance and Production and Acting Skills. There will be a series of practical assignments varying from informal small group presentations to larger public performances

This course is practical involving performance, coursework, and many opportunities to take part in plays and productions. You will develop knowledge of the styles of different practitioners and explore the ideas and themes of contemporary theatre, as well as devising and producing original work.
