Coulsdon College Law students experienced first-hand, the inside workings of a Magistrates court when they visited the Croydon Courts on November 25th and December 3rd 2015.

Students listened attentively in court to hear a range of cases, including domestic violence, criminal damage and bail applications.  Students also had the opportunity to meet with Linda Bragg, Head Legal Advisor at Croydon Magistrates before and after the court proceedings to discuss her position and the cases they had witnessed.  Linda was so impressed with Coulsdon students that she offered to help try and find work experience for them.

Student Nur Gulec said of the visit, “I found the trip really inspiring and it has made me want to pursue a career in Law after College.” Another student, Louise-Anne Mullaney added, “It was a real eye opener being able to see the court in action.”

Teacher Raymond Caramba-Coker expressed how well the students acted during the trip saying, “The students were both extremely positive and well behaved – a real credit to College.”
