On 27 June, the English and Performing Arts students went on a trip to see Hamlet. The performance was in the actors’ church, St Paul’s church in Covent Garden. They used the gardens and stage areas inside the church for the performance. This meant the audience got up and moved about every so often, an element the students loved.
Head of English Adrian Price enjoyed the trip ‘The play used contemporary music, humour and a sword fight with cutlasses that would have made even Johnny Depp sweat. The students had so much fun. The Literature students had the play reinforced and discussed interpretations while the Performing Arts students learnt about production methods of Promenade performance.’
