Kind-hearted staff and students at Croydon College and Coulsdon College have come together during a challenging time, to support a local charity raise funds for their foodbank.

The Colleges have joined the national ‘FE Foodbank Friday’ campaign, which is seeing FE organisations around the country coming together to raise money for community foodbanks. Many foodbanks are seeing a decline in donations during the pandemic and are in need of support.

The money that you donate will benefit local charity, Croydon Voluntary Action (CVA). CVA promotes, supports and develops effective voluntary action, community development and community involvement for the benefit of the whole community within the London Borough of Croydon. They run a wide range of services for small groups, social enterprises, larger charities and volunteers at all stages of development.

Caireen Mitchell, Croydon College Principal and CEO, says: ‘Both Colleges are a major partner in our local community, and we want to do all that we can to support it. By supporting this initiative, we can ensure that the most vulnerable people in our communities are well looked-after and all of us can make it through this pandemic.’
