History, Hospitality, PsychologyHow have you found your time at Coulsdon College?
I’ve really enjoyed it. I liked the choices on offer and the support from staff has been amazing. I’ve learnt that you can do a lot in a short space of time, which has been necessary since becoming President of the SU.
What was it like being voted in as SU President?
I was shocked and surprised, but really pleased and proud. I like to think that we are making a difference to others and there’s certainly an opportunity to do that through the SU.
What is your main focus of activity this year in the SU?
We decided to make the Leavers Prom a priority as it hasn’t been done before and we feel it’s important to offer all students who are leaving the opportunity to celebrate all their hard work and achievements. It’s difficult to get everybody to agree on what, where and when, but I’m learning to steer people in the direction of making decisions.
What are your plans for when you’ve finished college?
I’m taking a Gap year before going to university. I’m joining the Step Forward programme which is part of the National Citizens Service Challenge Programme. They provide one year’s professional work experience and skills training, which will help me decide what I want to do at university. At the moment I’m thinking about doing Philosophy with Management, but that may change.
