How did you decide what to study?

I gained 9As, 1A* and 3Bs, so I had lots of options. I basically chose the subjects I have a passion for and decided to combine A Levels with a BTEC in Performing Arts.

What areas interest you the most?

I’d love to work in Theatre, or TV Production. I’ve had some work experience in TV production and in a recording studio and thoroughly enjoyed it. I’ve also done some voice-over work and loved editing voice-overs for children’s cartoons.

What do you most like about College?

I love the fact that it’s diverse and inclusive. There’s no pressure to be anything in particular, or to wear anything particularly trendy. Students just accept you for who you are. It’s very liberating.

What else have you been involved in at College?

I went to an International Women’s Day event at the Cabinet Office, where I got to talk to women in public life, including senior civil servants from the Ministry of Defence, the Department of Work and Pensions and the Cabinet Office. It was really interesting to see how they all had such different backgrounds, upbringings and paths but have all become very successful women, despite the hurdles they may have faced along the way.

You’re working towards your D of E Silver, has that been a challenge?

Yes, especially the expedition part of the award, which we’ve just completed. Teamwork got us through and we learnt a lot about what not to take on an expedition when you have to carry your own gear! I’m hoping to do my Gold Award next year which will be even more of a challenge.
