BTEC Sport and Public Services student Connor Hussey has recently raised £850 for the Samaritans by dyeing his hair an ‘unusual’ colour.  Inspired to raise funds for the charity providing vital 24 hour support, by the death of a close friend of his, Connor took it upon himself to devise a system where his friends and family could pay to vote for the colour they wished his hair to be dyed.  The popular vote was for silver, but as Connor explains “that colour didn’t seem to want to take to my hair, so I have ended up with a greeny-yellow colour.  I quite like it and plan to keep it like this for a while.”

Connor, who is a keen rugby player,  is in the Upper sixth and is applying to gain an Apprenticeship in Engineering as well as trying to get into the Canine Unit for the police.  He says that his fundraising efforts have helped him to deal with the after effects of the death of his friend.  Well done Connor.
