On 29th November 2018, students hosted the Annual Art Auction at Coulsdon Sixth Form College. The event showcased student, staff and external artists work which were auctioned off to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
The event is organised and managed by the BTEC Level 3 Business students as part of their coursework. This included organising the Art students to produce the work, the Hospitality students to waitress during the evening and the Performing Arts students, who performed at the event. Head of Business Phil Castile said ‘The idea is students get real, hands-on experience of running an event which is invaluable when it comes to the workplace.’
The students raised over £1000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Head of Visual Arts, Fiona Brennan was really happy with the response to the event ‘I think this is the most we have raised to date. The charity is close to our hearts after the loss of an amazing student, Matilda Lines and so we continue to raise money in her name.’
Well done to all the students involved. The evening was a great success.
The Caterham Independent covered the story in their January 2018 edition. You can read it here.
