The Annual Art Auction was held on Thursday 19 April 2018 here at Coulsdon College. Organised by the Business BTEC level 3 students, the event showcased Art student’s designs which were also up for auction. All proceeds went to The Royal Marsden Hospital.

As part of their BTEC Business course, students are expected to organise the event from start to finish. Coordinating with the Art department for the artwork, they also had to provide hospitality on the night, organise the marketing and PR plus run the event on the night. Business Teacher Christine Todd said after the event, “By working as a team on an actual event which they can see unfold, is such a perfect learning experience for them.”

Guests were met with canapes and drinks upon arrival. Browsing the artwork, they could bid silently, finding out at the end of the evening if they were successful.

Head of Visual Arts Fiona Brennan said, “The event is a great working tool for Visual Art students who benefit from producing the work and seeing it sell.”

The students raised over £400 for The Royal Marsden Hospital. You can view the photo gallery here.
