On Friday 2nd February, Upper Sixth students on the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art & Design, A Level Graphics, A Level Photography and A Level Fine Art courses visited Tate Modern to research artworks linked to their exam theme and final major project.
With the huge range of contemporary and historical artworks on display and with so many genres represented – including whole room installations, video, interactive and conceptual works, and large scale paintings – there was plenty to get their creative juices flowing.
Students also had the opportunity to photograph the architecture and interior spaces, as well as views of the Thames from the 10th floor. One particular highlight was the huge installation of swings in the Turbine Hall entitled One, Two, Three, Swing by Danish artists’ collective Superflex.
