BTEC Travel and Tourism students, together with those who are studying for their NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Introduction to Cabin Crew visited Virgin Atlantic Base training centre in December.

Based in Crawley, the training centre consists of classrooms and a line of rigs which are used to train Virgin recruits in safety, security, medicine and customer service.

Teacher of Travel and Tourism, Donna Hollick explains, “This is a very useful trip which provides students with a vocational environment to complete role plays and learn about employment opportunities within Virgin Atlantic.”

BTEC student, Amy Hagger said, “The trip allowed me to gain more knowledge about the things cabin crew have to learn.  I was able to practise the safety demonstration and emergency evacuation procedures.  It was a very useful and enjoyable experience.”
