On 13 April, Physics A Level students attended a Physics Masterclass at Royal Holloway University London.  Ten Upper and Lower sixth students enjoyed learning about Particle Physics, Quarks, Leptons, Antimatter, the Big Bang, CERN and the ATLAS detector from research experts.

Coulsdon’s Head of Physics explains, “students were provided with hands on activities using real data related to the discovery of the Higgs boson, supervised by scientists working on a research project at the University.”

Lower Sixth student De’vonai Dwyer, who is studying A Levels in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Maths and is aiming to study Medicine at University, is enthusiastic about the event.  “It was amazing and really brought the subject to life.  It has re-kindled my enthusiasm for Physics.”
