On Wednesday 27 February the Upper Sixth Performing Arts students had the pleasure of going to the Apollo Theatre to see Everyone’s Talking About Jamie.

A big part of the Performing Arts course is to look at Musical Theatre and analyse various aspects of shows. Students can use and apply these ideas to their own Musical Theatre coursework. The seats were close to the front so students could clearly analyse acting techniques, directing, lighting and set design, all important elements which make up a musical theatre show.

Helen Patterson, Performing Arts teacher commented, ‘The show gave the students a chance to see the theories in action. Taking in all areas of the show is important so they understand the whole process from start to finish. The show was also a chance to explore issues facing young people in the LGBTQ community.’
