LGBT+ History Month has returned, and it is fantastic to see LGBT+ people and allies coming together under the rainbow flag.
It’s always good to reflect on the moments that shaped the community and see where much-needed improvements can be made.
For those who don’t know, LGBT+ History Month is a month-long observance of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer history, as well as a means of raising awareness for the issues faced by LGBT+ people.
This year the theme of LGBT+ history month 2023 is “Behind the Lens”, celebrating LGBT+ peoples’ contribution to cinema and film.
There will be many events, talks and discussions from prominent figures throughout February and March.
If you want to get involved, improve your understanding of the LGBT+ community or stay in the know about what is happening, check out the hashtag #BehindTheLens.
At Coulsdon Sixth Form Centre, we will also be hosting several events and activities for our students, who can find more information by checking out the plasma screens and noticeboards around the campus.
