Public Services students have today been put through their paces with a visit from 71 Signal Army Regiment. Captain Pryke and Corporal Hennigan, who is the Recruiting Officer from the Coulsdon squadron of the Army Reserves led the students through a series of practical exercises which were aimed at improving team building skills. From memory games, to logistical problem solving exercises, the students were put through their paces under careful scrutiny of the visiting army officers.

Lower sixth students, Marcus Nulty and Joseph Sharkie, who are both studying BTEC Public Services and also BTEC Sport enjoyed the experience. Marcus explained, “It was really good for us to work out of our comfort zone, ensuring we worked closely as a team and improving our communication skills.” Joseph added “I intent to join the police, but after this morning, I would consider joining the military police. I was surprised to hear that over 90% of the army are support staff, with only 10% infantry. This course is introducing me to some amazing new experiences.”
