SportWhy did you apply to Coulsdon Sixth Form College?
I was attracted to the Sports facilities at the open events as they’re quite new and looked great. Also, the links to football academies meant I knew the opportunities to continue playing football would be better here at Coulsdon.
You’re part of one of our Football Academies, how do you fit it all in?
I was selected to play as a goal keeper for the Redhill FC Academy. We train twice a week with matches on a Wednesday, which are during enrichment time on my timetable. I also play outside of College for Waddon Wanderers.
Sounds like sport will be your career direction?
Yes I think so. I’m interested in sports coaching but would like to take a GAP year after College before going to university.
You have dysgraphia, how has the support been?
I have a weekly 1-1 with Yvonne who is my Learning Facilitator. She helps with all my work and I know I can turn to her outside of our sessions if I need to. All the teachers are great. The feedback is constructive, meaning I always know what I need to do to build on my grade.
What advice would you give students looking to apply here?
BTECs are great because they are vocational. There is a wide range of courses here so there is a lot of choice.
