Why did you decide to come to Coulsdon College?

The College’s excellent reputation in the community and the outstanding pass rates gave me the confidence that I would do well here.

What are you studying?

I’m doing three A Levels. My favourite is Art & Design which has been perfect for me as it has really improved my graphic communication skills. Photography and Media Studies combined have helped develop my creative and analytical side.

Which area of the Art course have you particularly enjoyed?

I’ve been able to work on Apple Macs, learning Photoshop and Illustrator software which has enabled me to really show off my creative abilities. I particularly enjoyed the Retail project. Following a trip to IKEA, I produced a 3D interactive model, using balsa wood and lots of different textiles. I included it in my portfolio when I went for university interviews and got great feedback.

Are you going to study Art at university?

I’m hoping to go to UCA, Farnham to study for a BA in Interior Architecture and Design. I chose this course as the modules seem really interesting. My College teachers were really supportive and advised me on my portfolio, so I felt confident and well prepared for my interviews.

What was your involvement in the SU this year?

I have really enjoyed being the SU Creative Officer, using my graphics skills to help promote College events and activities. It’s been great fun working in the SU team to make student life more colourful and creative.
