How are you coping with exam pressure associated with doing 4 A Levels?

I actually prefer the intensity of working for exams to the constant pressure of doing coursework on BTEC courses. I seem to be able to focus really well under pressure. I did well at GCSE, gaining 6As and 5Bs and my predicted grades here are good.

What’s the best thing about College life?

We learn through debate and discussion. The teachers are focussed on you as an individual, ensuring you do your very best. I love the fact that it’s a really grown up environment and you’re not distracted by hoards of younger pupils. I think it has prepared me really well for going to university.

Do you get a lot of feedback from the teachers?

My History teacher is particularly well organised. The lessons are well planned and structured. Homework is always marked quickly with really good feedback on what could be improved. I have really enjoyed learning about the modern history of Russia.

Have you been on any trips?

I’ve been on a couple of theatre trips, including one to the National Theatre, and another to the BFI Film Festival where I got to speak to one of the producers of Suffragette. I also attended an Oxbridge day, when I was introduced to all the things I’ll have to consider if I decide to apply to Russell Group Universities. Another trip to a UCAS day enabled me to talk to lots of different universities about the courses they have on offer. It has opened up a whole new world for me and has given me food for thought.
