Geography, History, Politics, SpanishYou’re doing four A Levels, how are you managing the work?
My subjects fit together really well and there’s some overlap between them, which helps a lot! I’m fluent in Spanish, so that’s made things a bit easier, but I’m very busy.
What’s your favourite subject and why?
Geography; there’s so much variety, as we study Human and Physical Geography. I’m particularly interested in the development of countries. In the Lower Sixth I went on a Geography trip to Swansea where we looked at how humans affect the environment. Class sizes are small which means we get a lot of attention and teachers mix the teaching up to make lessons more fun. For example we learn through debates, games, videos, flash cards and quizzes.
What are your plans after College?
I intend to go to Sussex University to study Geography and International Development with Spanish. It’s a four year course, with opportunities to travel abroad which I’m keen on. After that, I think I may end up working for the Government, formulating environmental policy.
Have you been involved in any extra-curricular activities at College?
I really enjoyed mixed hockey training and cricket. I plan to try and play more hockey once I get to university.
What would you say makes you stand out?
I guess it’s useful to have a second language and I think I’m good at seeing other people’s point of view.
