History, Politics, Psychology, SociologyHow did you choose what to study at Coulsdon College?
I had an idea I wanted to study Criminology, so knew that Sociology and Psychology would be useful. Even though I hadn’t studied those subjects at GCSE, the teachers explained the curriculum so clearly to me, I knew it was going to be interesting. I love Government & Politics too which is giving me an increasing knowledge of the world and how it works. History is great too, which links in with Sociology. In fact, I think all my subjects work really well together.
Have you had any good careers advice since coming to College?
I now know that I want to study Criminology with Sociology. With that in mind, it was very useful to go to the UCAS fair at the University of Surrey, to find out what kinds of courses are available and where they are. After university, I may look for a job assisting the police with their criminal investigations. My courses are preparing me well for this type of career.
Have you been on any interesting trips?
Yes, my Government & Politics class went to The Politics Student Conference in Westminster which gave me a real insight into the world of politics and democracy.
You are on the Enhancement Programme, what does this entail?
It’s a really helpful programme where we get assistance with all aspects of applying to university. I have had help structuring my Personal Statement, honing my interview techniques and presentation skills.
