Computing & IT, English, Media StudiesWhy did you choose to come to Coulsdon College?
I wanted a change from what I was used to. I thought it would help me grow up and become more independent, which it has.
What is your favourite subject?
I love English Language and Literature. My analytical skills have really improved since coming here and I really enjoy exploring the language which is used in texts and developing my own opinions about them. I enjoyed going to see a theatre production of The Great Gatsby, which really brought the book by F S Fitzgerald alive.
Do you have an idea about what you would like to do after College?
I want to become a presenter on children’s TV programmes. I know it’s very competitive, but I’m developing a CV which will help me to get an apprenticeship in the media industry. I have been working as a volunteer at East Surrey Hospital Radio and I am on their training programme which is giving me great experience at working a production desk as well as presenting. I love my drama course which is really developing my confidence.
I coach gymnastics twice a week at Croydon Acro Gymnastics club and run children’s gymnastic parties, so I feel like I already have lots of experience in entertaining children.
What do you like best about College life?
I love the modern building and the friendly atmosphere. It was really easy to settle in as I had been to a couple of Open Days and Induction Days, so I felt like I already knew the College.
