Why did you choose Coulsdon College?

I attended Rosebury School for my GCSEs, but I was keen to move on from an all-girls environment. My best subjects at school were the ones with a practical element, so I knew that I would be better suited to BTECs than A Levels.

How are you getting on with your BTEC Sport course?

I’m on track to gain Distinction *s. The teachers are very inspiring and go out of their way to help me achieve my best. The hardest, but possibly the most rewarding topic so far has been the coaching module, where we had to coach the whole class. It was really challenging and pushed me out of my comfort zone but I enjoyed developing new skills.

What sports are you involved with at College?

I’m in the girls’ football team. Virtually the whole team were new to football; many of the players didn’t even have football boots and we were very rusty to start with! Our College coach is good at motivating us and our skills have improved considerably, not to mention our team spirit.

Do you do any other sports?

I’m training for the London Marathon and I play for Epsom Under 18’s hockey team. I’m the goal keeper and I love playing this high adrenalin sport, which demands quick reactions and excellent team work. Last year, playing for the Under 16s, we got to the quarter finals of the National League which was very exciting.
