Coulsdon Sixth Form College’s Upper Sixth students welcomed former Thomas Cook Cabin Manager, Leanna O’Brien as part of their BTEC Level 3 Travel and Tourism studies.

Students were appreciative of Leanna’s visit following the collapse of the Thomas Cook group in which she lost her job. Fortunately, she has found a new role with Virgin Atlantic to continue her career as Cabin Crew.

Students are currently studying unit 6 of their BTEC Travel and Tourism course which involves going through an application process for a job. Those that decided to apply for a Cabin Crew position were interviewed by Leanna, who equipped them with an experience of what it will be like in a real interview.

Leanna also gave the students a great insight into crew room duties before and after a flight. Students from both classes were then able to ask Leanna further questions about what it is like work in Cabin Crew.

If you would like to follow in the footsteps of Leanna and current BTEC Level 3 Travel and Tourism students, check out our Travel courses today.
