As the new school year starts, the Croydon College Group is continuing to take steps to ensure the safety of its students, staff and visitors during the COVID-19 pandemic, while maintaining learning opportunities in person.
Students are welcome to wear face coverings while on College grounds and have been asked to continue following COVID-19-related signage, and are also required, as per government guidelines, to take a Lateral Flow Test (LFT) twice a week to help reduce the spread of coronavirus. Students have also been asked to consider getting vaccinated.
LFTs can be collected from reception at Croydon College and from Hub Reception at Coulsdon Sixth Form College, and there is also the option to book a test on-site, with the test team at the Croydon Campus Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and the Coulsdon Campus on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Bookings are available via MyPT or by emailing COVID19-testcentre@croydon.ac.uk
Students who report a positive LFT must self-isolate immediately and report the test on the government website as well as to tutors. Within two days they must also take a PCR test to confirm their result. If you do not get a PCR test within two days the student most self-isolate for the full 10 days.
If the PCR test is positive, students must self-isolate immediately for 10 full days and report the positive result to tutors.
Students required to self-isolate and are well enough are welcomed to continue their College studies from home. Some lessons may be live streamed and learning resources are able to be accessed remotely through Moodle at any time.
