Michelle Maguire, SU Charities Officer, and Roberta Gavin, Sports Officer, attended the South London Citizens two-day community leadership training course at King’s College London on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th January.
The introductory course in community organising covered topics such as leadership, negotiation, storytelling, power, listening, and action with the aim of equipping community leaders to bring about change in their school, college, university, charity, faith group or community group.
Other course participants included rabbis, vicars, teachers, university and think tank staff, and a variety of community leaders.
This was a fantastic opportunity which inspired Michelle and Roberta with new ideas how to move forward the Student Union campaign for youth mental health.
