Mathematics, Music

Why did you apply to Coulsdon Sixth Form College?

The College had the courses I wanted plus I could mix and match my programme allowing me to do BTECs alongside A Level Maths.

You have an Apprenticeship at the Royal Albert Hall, tell me a bit about that.

I have been selected to study for my Level 3 Creative Venue Technician, working with lighting, rigging and sound. I have always wanted a career in music so an apprenticeship was the way forward for me. This apprenticeship really appealed to me because it will give me live technical work experience while gaining my qualifications.
The application process was difficult, starting with submitting my CV, going for an interview which was in front of a panel and a practical element. I am really excited about starting in July 2018.

How did the College support you through the process?

The careers department helped me with work experience which helped me realise this was the route I wanted to take. My teachers were supportive before the interview giving me knowledge to study and learn!

What advice would you give other music students looking to come here?

It is a great route if you love music. The teachers are supportive and treat you like an adult.
