Collecting Exam Results Summer 2020
Update on BTEC grading
Announcement 26-08-2020
The awarding body have been reviewing the BTEC results for all BTEC qualifications. We are getting these updates on a daily basis and updating all of our systems accordingly with your new results. These are only provisional however until all results have been confirmed on Friday 28th August, when we would have all remaining results in for BTEC qualifications. We ask that you use the online systems to check your results from then. We will leave the systems online until Tuesday 2nd September, when we will then have to refresh these for the upcoming academic year so please do make sure you have checked and obtained your results before then.
Announcement 19-08-20
Following an instruction from Pearson, we are not able to share any L1 or L2 BTEC results on 20th August 2020 in line with GCSE’s and other qualifications; as the awarding body are reviewing calculated grades for externally assessed units, following Ofqual’s announcement. We will update you as soon as we have more information. Apologies for any inconvenience this will cause. In the meantime please do proceed with enrolments with us and we will take into account additional qualifications and outcomes of any GCSE results to ensure that you are able to enrol onto the right course
Announcement 18-08-20
Dear Students and Parents,
Many of you will have been watching and waiting to see how the A Level grades for this year were finally going to be awarded.
Ofqual have now made a significant and definitive announcement. Please click here.
Whilst we await further information as to how the award bodies will officially release the final results, we have decided to release the internally-derived Centre Assessed Grades where these are different to the grades issued last week.
You can access this new Statement of Results which, where applicable, will now factor in your A Level Centre Assessed Grades where these were higher than your Calculated Grades. You can do this by logging on to Moodle in the same way you accessed your results last Thursday.
I sincerely hope that either with the results you received last week or with these Centre Assessed Grades, you will be able to progress with your lives whether this is at university or an apprenticeship. All we can suggest, at this stage, to those of you still needing to finalise your university place, is that you contact the universities and use UCAS Clearing.
Kind regards and best wishes
Richard Beales

Announcement 13-08-20
Following the Government’s announcement on 11 August regarding the triple lock for A Level and GCSE results, the College is reliant on receiving guidance from Ofqual as to how this will operate in practice. However, Ofqual have told us that this information won’t be available until next week.
In the meantime, if you are concerned about your grade you should email exams@coulsdon.ac.uk and state clearly if wish to sit the examinations in October or if you are considering appealing your grade. We will then contact you next week as soon as we have the details from Ofqual. If you wish to receive your Centre Assessed Grade to help you through clearing, you should email this request to exams@coulsdon.ac.uk
However, we believe that many of you will be pleased with the results you get and consider that these are fair results. We hope that these grades enable you to progress, for example, to the university you have as first choice or an insurance offer or through clearing. UCAS provide support for those going through clearing but if you need help please email careers@coulsdon.ac.uk and include a contact number. We will respond as soon as we are able to on a first-come, first-served basis.
Even if you haven’t considered this option so far, Croydon College has a number of HE courses and their Admissions Team would be delighted to talk to you. You can contact them by calling their Clearing Helpline on 020 8760 5994.
