Creative Digital Media – Level 3 UAL Diploma
This course is for those wishing to focus their learning on creative digital media production, with a view to progressing to a related Higher Education course, and potentially a career in the creative industries. You will develop employability
skills and knowledge through contextual projects, which build their communication skills and ability to work collaboratively, as well as developing practical skills in digital media hardware, software and processes.

Four GCSEs grade 9-4 and a satisfactory school reference.Including English Language at grade 4 and maths at grade
4 as a minimum. You will also need to show an art portfolio, containing recent examples of creative work you have done.
The College offers a Diploma in Creative Digital Media Production, which is a practical vocational course designed for students who want to develop research, creative, and production skills in media and print media. Students will collaborate with media companies to pitch ideas, work with production crews to script and storyboard, and edit and present documentaries.
The course will provide students with a professional understanding of the industry and the necessary skills for success. They will also have the opportunity to create and develop a diverse media portfolio to enhance their university or media career prospects.
Students will learn to use industry standard software including Adobe Creative Suite programs such as Photoshop, Premiere Pro After Effects and InDesign, with a license that allows them to access all of the Creative Suite software in college and at home.
Recommended Equipment:
A 64GB to 128GB SDXC drive such as SanDisk 64GB Extreme PRO SDXC card is compulsory. If you qualify for bursary this will be purchased on your behalf.
We have Cameras, Lights, Audio systems, Gimbals and tracks to use in our studio and on campus. We are often asked to recommend equipment for students who wish to purchase their own equipment. Though not compulsory or comprehensive, our recommended equipment list which can be bought Used or Renewed at reasonable prices, is as follows:
Cameras:
Canon 600D or 700D
Canon XC10 or XF305 at the higher price range.
Audio:
Dji Mic Mini
Dji Mic 2 with Lav mics at the higher price range
We also recommend additional external storage such as a 500GB to1TB Hard drive.
This course provides a useful background for academic or vocational courses at university, including Ravensbourne, and for employment in media industries such as production companies, PR, advertising, the music industry, or teaching/lecturing in media.
The course is assessed through coursework and two external exams. Students earn points from their completed units, which are added together to form an overall grade.
