What Are T Levels?

T Levels are a two-year, career-focused qualification, developed with employers, and equivalent to three A Levels. Students spend 80% of their time in the classroom and 20% (around 45 days) in a real workplace — that’s where you come in.

By hosting a student for an industry placement, you’re not just giving them valuable experience — you’re giving your business fresh thinking, new energy, and the chance to shape future talent.

Why Offer a T Level Placement?

When you host a T Level student, your business benefits through:

  • Fresh perspectives and digital-savvy input
  • Early access to emerging talent in your sector
  • An extra pair of hands to support projects or day-to-day work
  • Giving back to the community by supporting local education
  • No cost to you — placements are unpaid and supported by us

And best of all, our dedicated Work Placement Team supports you every step of the way — from planning the placement to ensuring everything runs smoothly.

What Is an Industry Placement?

A T Level industry placement is a structured opportunity for a student to:

  • Spend around 45 days in your workplace
  • Develop job-specific skills and confidence
  • Learn directly from your team
  • Add value while gaining hands-on experience

Placements can be flexible — spread out over weeks or completed in blocks — depending on what suits your business best.

Our team will work with you to design a placement that suits your business and aligns with your goals. We’ll also help with paperwork, planning, and any challenges that come up along the way.

Do I Need to Pay the Student?

No — there is no legal requirement to pay a T Level student, as this is part of their course. That said, some employers choose to offer expenses or financial support — it’s completely up to you.

We may also be able to support with essential upfront costs like DBS checks, PPE, or specialist tools.

Be Part of Something Bigger

When you offer a T Level placement, you’re not just filling a temporary role — you’re investing in the future of your industry, your community, and your business.
