Politics – A Level
You will study the features of government and political systems at local, national and international levels. You do not need to have studied the subject before, but you must have an interest in politics and current affairs. Topics will include UK Politics, UK Government, Core Political Ideas and American Politics.
Five GCSEs grade 9-4 and a satisfactory school reference. Including English Language at grade 5, maths at grade 4. English Literature or History at grade 5 as a minimum.
The College offers educational experiences including trips, visiting speakers and residentials.
Politics students are valued for their versatility and analytical skills, opening up career opportunities in the Civil Service, Teaching, and the Police.
Students will develop a range of analytical, investigative, and critical skills applicable to their chosen career path. Keeping up-to-date with current affairs through reading respected newspapers and watching or listening to the news on a weekly basis is crucial for success in Politics.
