At Coulsdon Sixth Form College, we are committed to ensuring every student feels supported, included and empowered to achieve their full potential. Our dedicated SEND and Additional Learning Support (ALS) teams provide personalised support for learners with special educational needs or disabilities, as well as any student who may benefit from extra help to thrive academically and personally.
We work closely with students and their families to design individual support plans that nurture strengths, build confidence and encourage independence. Our programmes help students develop essential life, study and employability skills, with specialist pathways that include practical learning in areas such as communication, teamwork, IT, healthy living, and daily life skills. Students can also continue to develop their English and Maths through functional skills or GCSEs where needed.
Our ALS team supports a wide range of needs including dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, dysgraphia, autism spectrum conditions, ADHD, sensory impairments, physical disabilities, medical conditions and social, emotional or mental health needs. Support may include one-to-one sessions, small-group tuition, tailored exam arrangements, wellbeing guidance, careers advice and close collaboration with internal and external services. All students who disclose a learning difficulty or disability are invited to a confidential interview to create a personalised support plan, regularly reviewed to ensure progress and independence.

Students can access dedicated learning spaces, the Learning Resource Centre, IT facilities, the art room, gym and other areas of the College, helping them feel fully integrated into sixth-form life.
