Performing Arts – Level 3 BTEC Certificate/ Diploma
This course is practical involving performance, coursework, and many opportunities to take part in plays and productions. You will develop knowledge of the styles of different practitioners and explore the ideas and themes of contemporary
theatre, as well as devising and producing original work.
This course offers students a diverse range of acting styles and opportunities to develop their skills in acting and performing. The course is practical and includes performance, coursework, and various opportunities to participate in plays and productions. Students will also gain knowledge of different practitioners' styles, explore contemporary theatre themes, and create original work.
Four GCSEs grade 9-4 and a satisfactory school reference.Including English Language at grade 4 and maths at grade 4
as a minimum.. You will be required to attend an audition.
Performing Arts students have the opportunity to participate in various course-related experiences, such as theatre trips, National Theatre Live, cinema viewings, and collaborations with theatre groups.
BTEC qualifications are highly valued in higher education and by employers, opening up opportunities for careers in acting, musical theatre, performance, arts administration, and other related fields.
Additionally, students may consider further study in areas such as drama therapy, speech therapy, teaching, journalism, advertising, marketing, or travel and tourism, depending on their additional advanced level courses.
Students are expected to perform in public, work collaboratively, problem-solve, plan their own learning, and communicate effectively.
Throughout the course, students will work on productions, investigate performance structures, and actor training. Towards the end of the course, students will plan potential routes into employment or further study.
